Secondary Schools Triathlon
Note this is not the regional champs as it has been in previous years, that will be held separately in the new year.
The distances for this race are 300m swim / 10km bike / 3.8km run.

We like to encourage athletes of all abilities to enter this race. Normally most athletes are on road bikes
This race gives points to any athletes participating in the TriNZ Junior/Youth Series. This does not mean it is an elite competition but for those that will do other races you can accrue points here. For more information on the TriNZ Series check here https://triathlon.kiwi/trinz-junior-series/
Under 14 start in one wave.
Under 16’s & 19’s will start separately with the open draft legal race
Males and females can draft off each other on the bike leg.
Course Description:
Swim Course
The swim will be a 300m triangular course within the lake (athletes will be out of their depth for the entire swim leg)
Bike Course
The bike will be 2 lap of the course on open roads = 10km.
Any sort of bike is allowed providing you do not have aero bars. You do not need a racing bike; the only thing we will insist on is that you wear a cycle helmet and keep to the left at all times.
Drafting is allowed - no aero bars
